6 attacks the refinery next (Alien Refinery mission), whilst Dark arrives in the jungle area, and Rookie's ship lands. 6 engages the marines within the colony (Alien Colony mission). The Marlow and Pred vessel arrive the Marlow is destroyed, and 3 more Predator pods including Dark descend from their ship upon the planet, while "Rookie's" dropship does the same. 6 attacks the ruins archaeological team, and harvests an Elite Predator (Alien Ruins mission).

Dark is currently in training (Predator Tutorial) and is then called to the planet with his allies. Predators either already on the planet or who arrived later, engage them and the humans there they then send out a signal. Aliens escape the lab (Alien Research Lab mission) This is basically how the whole thing transpires: The Alien Ruins mission should have been second and not last. One of the problems is that 6 get's captured at the end of the Jungle mission, in which you can see 6 leaving Gateway before it falls down in pain from the Queen expiring. The game contains strong profanity (200 or so f**ks, around 175 sh*ts) uttered by angry marines for example, "This sh*t ain't in my contract" and "F**k, f**k, f**k!" In one bar scene, players view a hologram of a pole dancer wearing a G-string and a bra (the scene accounts for the Suggestive Themes descriptor, not the Mature rating). They start to overlap after the first couple Alien missions.

The Alien and Predator attacks represent the most intense aspects of violence: wrist-blades are used to pierce through eyes, rip off heads an Alien's inner mouth can smash through human skulls a baby alien will burst out of the chest of a human host's body heads and human spines are torn out (shown close-up) then gently caressed-red blood dripping from the spinal column. As a marine, players use machine guns, sniper rifles, pistols, flamethrowers, and explosives to shoot and kill hostile enemies the combat is frenetic and the blood splatter is fantastical-green or acidic acid emitting from the creatures. Players find themselves in deep space, on the futuristic frontier of human colonization they find themselves seeking out missing colonists (in the case of the marines), defending their queen and propagating the species (the Aliens), or protecting the secrets of a mysterious pyramid (the Predators). This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of one of three protagonists: a human marine, an Alien, or a Predator (alien-like, but with dreadlocks).
